In the Christmas story in the gospel of Luke, we find that the baby Jesus was wrapped in cloths and placed in a manger (an animal feed trough) because there was no room available in the Inn.
"In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. "
Luke 2 : 1-7
There was no room for the baby Jesus, but he grows into the man Jesus and we read in the Gospel of John Chapter 1 verse 17
"For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."
Grace is an "undeserved favour", the undeserved favour of a God who did not hesitate to send his only son to save us.
At Grace West we aim to see "more and more people transformed by Grace".
We believe that God's Grace in sending his Son is the transforming act that can save us to love and serve Him. We pray that you can make room for Jesus in your Christmas and be transformed by Gods Grace too!
