Hospitality Sunday

Share a meal together with 10 people from your congregation. We’ll co-ordinate the groups. Hosts provide the venue, organise and invite the guests in the week prior to lunch.

Instructions for HOSTING

  1. Plan the day

You are responsible for providing a place to share a meal, and making the necessary arrangements:

a. A location: your house, or an appropriate alternative – picnic spot etc

b. Seating and amenities

c. Cutlery, plates, cups etc – you could provide these or co-ordinate for people to bring the various items.

d. The meal. EITHER

  • pot-luck - everyone brings a plate (default). You might like to provide some drinks etc.

  • co-ordinated potluck – assign different things to each guest (main, snack, sides, desserts etc)

  • BBQ – BYO meat (or not), assign salads etc.

  • Other – it’s up to you. You might want to cater for everyone. You are free to do so!

  1. Invite your guests

You will be given the names and contact information of your guests in the week leading up to lunch. Get in contact with them by phone/email/text to introduce yourself, invite them to ‘hospitality Sunday’ and provide the information they need: address, time, what you’d like them to bring etc.

  1. Be the host

Warmly welcome your guests. Do some introductions. Have a great time getting to know one another better over a meal.
